So Nardin has this goal of cutting down on stealing from each other. They make us lock our lockers now and give out frequent detentions to those who don't comply. It's pretty much locker bootcamp. Then they put cameras up near the gym locker room because people were taking stuff out of bags. When that didn't work well enough, they made it mandatory that all girls buy a locker for the gym locker room and put their stuff in a locker (but most people still leave their stuff on the benches outside the door).

Now what happens? Well all the girls who have this problem with stealing can no longer do it in school. Now they do it on Elmwood at all the stores. A store owner called Mrs. Reeder yesterday and she represented all of the store owners on Elmwood. She said that girls have been stealing from their shops for quite some time now and they've been catching them and letting them go. But now the won't let them go anymore. They're going to detain them, call the police, have them arrested, and then call Mrs. Reeder to come so that she can identify the girl. The stores are also not going to contribute to any fundraisers anymore, such as the musical and Fortune. If it still continues, no Nardin girls will be allowed in any Elmwood shops at all. Wow, great. I'd really like to thank all the stupid girls who are stealing stuff and ruining Nardin's reputation. They're pathetic.

We go to Nardin. None of us are poor. Why are girls continuing to steal? It really boggles my mind.

Girls have also got kicked out of two consecutive Canisius dances for drinking and Mrs. Reeder has to go there today and have a meeting and try to find out all of the names of the girls who were kicked out.

Wow, Nardin sure does have quite the reputation these days, and its not a good one. In Mrs. Reeder's words, "This is not what Nardin is all about."

Three things:

1. I'm currently taking stats and my professor keeps talking about "x bar" and all I can think about is Ms. Casper going "[high pitched] V [drop an octave] baaaaaaaaahr". And I keep giggling. I don't think anyone notices, though.

2. I am sitting here studying for an impossible test in my Walk-a-Thon 2003 sweatshirt, drinking hot chocolate out of my Nardin Alumnae coffee cup, which somehow makes it a little less intimidating.

3. I was assigned Dr. Sharrow to be my advisor. And while I don't think I'm going to actually have him be my advisor, I thought it was a wonderful coincidence seeing as I've been missing Mrs. Sharrow lately.

No one really posts in this so I decided to. =D

Yeah so school definitely starts in 3 weeks and I am not looking forward to it. Where did summer go? This summer was really bad weather wise. Eh whatever. My friend said she heard that before the blizzard of '77, summer was exactly like this so we might have a bad winter. Anyways, it doesn't seem like I've been at Nardin for 2 years already. It really does fly by. I'm really scared for junior year!!! Ahh but I think I'll live. Later guys. =)

nobody's posted here for a while, well obviously summer... yet there is just a little more than a month left before once again those halls are being scuffed up. anyone doing any sports or such this year? good clubs to join? ideas to get involved with?? i enjoy the fact that we get to wear pants, but sometimes the khaki choice that girls wear are slightly not appropriate for school. i think that everyone would look nicer in a black trouser type pant- a dress pant- with a button down shirt. anyone agree? I also think you could have more of a leeway option on the material your pant is made of and not get yelled at because it's not true khaki.

Just ran into Miss Testa in the bathroom of the third floor of the library. She wasn't scary lol. Made small talk... It's kind of weird to go to the same school as your Spanish IV teacher. And to run into her... in the library... in the bathroom...

That is all.

So, the entire network at school is throwing a huge hissy fit, so I can't use it to do my PowerPoint presentation for religion.

My mother had the brilliant idea that I come to Nardin to do it.

Here I am.
At Nardin.
Working on a presentation.

Let's see... what had I forgotten about Nardin...

1. How there's some weird white residue on the floor that gets all over anything you place on it.

2. How ditzy the girls are. ("Let me see your phone! blahblahblah Yeah we've been playing phone tag ALL DAY.)

3. People are actually afraid of Testa? They're obviously getting weaker since I left.

4. How nice all the teachers are to you after you leave.

Saw Becky Bellavia practically upon arrival... :-)

Alright! Enough of this. I have to get back to work. Blah. Two weeks left.

Hey everyone!

I don't know if anyone in this community is old enough to remember Father Jeff, but if you do, I thought you'd find it interesting that he got married about a week ago. This is the Buffalo news announcement.

I went to Kosta's last night with my mother and Todd and saw Mrs. Strassel, Miss Podd, Miss Burns, and Miss Testa. Hm... all were surprisingly nice. Much nicer than LAST time I saw them... lol. Miss Podd looks really good- so I'm assuming she's doing alright.

That is all.

"V Baaaaahr" [30 Oct 2003|12:13am]

[ mood | amused ]

Today my calculus professor referred to the "Quick and Dirty Method." I laughed. I don't think anyone else noticed... I swear, the kids in all my classes are dead... ANYWAY! Lizz and I laughed about it at lunch... Had lots of fun imitating the accent. I almost miss Ms. Casper. So, I thought of Ms. Casper and thought I would share that with the rest of you Nardos.

Nardin Update!!!!1 [20 Oct 2003|05:29pm]

I've been there. I've seen it. I visited last Tuesday actually. And there are some renovationy updates I thought you guys might find interesting.

  • The cafeteria is now painted in a royal blue and trimmed with lemon yellow. Or maybe the colors are reversed. Either way, it's not hospital green no mo.
  • The once-downstairs library is now this professional-looking conference room.
  • The main office is a little different now. I don't remember what they did, but that back room area looks different from the outside and the whole thing looks more spacious. I think the place might have also gotten a paint job.
  • In the chem lab, there are these really comfortable wooden kitchen-stool type chairs with backs on them. The bottoms were scratching the floor, so Ms. Kelly cut a hole in (used) tennis balls and stuck the legs in them. I thought that was a cool idea.
  • The new library looks amazing. Whatever they said about Walkathon money and auction money going to charitable worthy causes was a crock. But there are posh chairs, computers embedded into the desks with visor-like screens (very odd), a new computer area, and a cool reception desk. I'm surprised they're not implanting a Starbucks.

As for everything else, there are still idiots giggling and ramming their cars into trees and curbs. There is still the senior lounge with the typical posteria. They're still working on a Fall musical (good times). Skoogy has maintained her healthy level of insanity. And J.C. is still the coolest person ever.

I was telling Mrs. Reeder about the number of hours I'm taking, and she's like, "Yes, these girls only have a limited amount of school a week. That leaves so much time. I mean, what are they doing?"

Oh man, I couldn't even begin to answer that question...

    Hello and welcome.

    Question of the now:
In a novel, would you rather be a detested but ingenious criminal, or the bumbling but loveable comic relief?
